Hello Families,

May is here, and we’re enjoying the warmer weather! 🌼☀️

As the seasons change, please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the day. A light sweater in their cubby is helpful for cooler mornings, as we don’t always have extras available.

We’ll also be spending more time outside enjoying the sunshine and fresh air, so please be sure your child is prepared for outdoor play each day.

With more sunny days ahead, sending your child with a labeled sun hat is a great way to help keep them comfortable. 🌞

This month, we’ll be creating special Mother’s Day crafts, along with fun activities centered around camping and gardening. These crafts will support creativity, fine motor skills, and help children express their love and appreciation in meaningful ways.

Please make sure your child is being signed in and out each day. If you are having trouble with the app, please let the front desk or a classroom teacher know. This is a vital part of our daily safety procedures and attendance records.

📢 Cubby Check Reminder
We kindly ask that you take a moment to check your child’s cubby and bring home any toys, artwork, or extra items.

To help keep cubbies organized, please ensure they contain only:

• 1 blanket

• 1 stuffed animal

• Extra socks, shirts, and bottoms

• Weather-appropriate attire (hat, jacket, etc.)

Please make sure all belongings are clearly labeled with your child’s first and last name.

🧺 Blankets should be taken home every Friday and returned clean (or replaced) every Monday.

🌞 Please ensure your child has a properly fitting hat for outdoor time. If hats are taken home, they must be returned the next day. We have a designated bucket in the classroom for hat storage.

📝 Classroom Whiteboard Reminders
We kindly remind all families to check the classroom whiteboards regularly. These boards share 

important updates about items your child may need, such as diapers, wipes, sunscreen, and other essentials.

We will continue providing verbal reminders and updates through ProCare as well—whiteboards are simply an additional form of communication.

Whiteboard Locations:

• K2 Classroom: Immediately to the right as you enter

• K1 Classroom: Above the sensory bins, near the emergency exit

🇺🇸 Memorial Day Closure
Sunset Academy will be closed on Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day.
