March 2026- Brown Bears

Welcome to March Brown Bears!

Now that the weather is starting to warm up I’m so excited that we’ll be moving on to our more outdoorsy and STEM based activities! The unit theme for the month of March is Recycling!

Our Brown Bears will learn all about the three R’s (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) as well as learn how to dispose of different materials. We’ll be discussing and exploring how we can help care for the earth and the consequences of not doing so.

I encourage you all to bring in recyclable materials (for projects) and any books related to the theme for this unit.

We’re also now only 2 months away from graduation!

Unit: Recycle

Math: #’s 40-50, puzzles

Letters: R & S

Social Emotional: Team Work/Team Projects

– TAKING DONATIONS –

For our recycling unit I am requesting that recycling materials be brought to class throughout the month of March.

We’ll be needing a couple large and medium boxes specifically for the sculpture day on March 20th!

Examples of what you can bring: boxes, plastic bottles, lids, cans, newspaper, plastic containers, cartons, etc

*** materials brought will be used by the students for their projects so please do not bring any glass materials! Please rinse any remaining liquids/solids before bringing bottles/containers

MOVIE DAY

On March 27th we will be watching The Lorax! I’ll be splitting the viewing into two parts, one in the morning after recess and the rest of the film after nap.

The Lorax is a great story about protecting the environment and what happens when nature is mistreated and not properly taken care of. This will also be a great transition to our gardening unit in April!

March 17th – St Patrick’s Day — wear green!

March 20th – Class sculpture/s we’ll work as a team to make a large sculpture out of recycled materials

REMINDERS

*** The weather has been very up & down so please continue to bring in sweaters/coats for those random cold days.

*** Recently there’s been lots of toys being brought from home and I’ve noticed many of them have gotten lost. Please keep toys home unless it is a small stuffy for nap time. If stuffy or pillow is too big to fit into the cubby please bring in something smaller.

*** If students are dropped off after 8:30 AM, please take them to the restroom before dropping them off in the classroom.
