Director’s Newsletter: January 2023

We all look forward to a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year with new, fun, and exciting things planned this year at Sunset Academy!
We believe that YOU are the most important teacher your child will ever have! Open lines of communication between center staff and family members are essential to facilitate your child’s growth and learning.  ProCare Connect & classroom newsletters provide news about activities that your child is participating in as well as other important notices and information. Please follow this link for your child’s classroom.
Winter is finally here! Brr, it has been a chilly winter. Please be sure to send your child with appropriate weather gear as we will continue to go outside as the weather allows us to. Please make sure your child’s hats, gloves, snow pants, winter coat, & snow boots are labeled.       *Our classrooms will be going outside even if your child does not have appropriate winter gear.
Tax Time- If you would like your 2022 Tax Statement, please log into out Online Parent Portal at https://myprocare.com. You will be able to access it from there.
Teacher Growth- We are excited to announce that we have 2 infant teachers who have attended & completed classes to obtain their Infant/Toddler Certification and we have 1 teacher is newly enrolled in classes this year! We are so proud of our staff and their passion in childcare. They are working hard to expand their knowledge and gain techniques and skills in their career path.
CO CACFP– We are currently in the process of enrolling in the Colorado Child & Adult Care Food Program. This food program gives us more options when providing well rounded, nutritious meals. We are required to have every family complete an income eligibility form during this application process. We will send ProCare messages to families throughout the first weeks of January to meet us in the office at pick up or drop off so that we can quickly fill out this form together.
