Director’s Newsletter: June 2021

It’s hard to believe, but we are almost halfway through the year. Summer is finally upon us and we hope you all will have an opportunity to take some time with your families to have some fun and venture out.

Guidelines for Entering Building:

(as adapted from Boulder County Health Guidelines)

For fully vaccinated parents who come in to drop-off your child, apply hand sanitizer before entering. You must wear your mask while in the school. Drop off your child at the classroom entrance. Do not enter into the classroom and do not linger. Schedule another time with the teacher to talk, preferably virtually if you wish to talk to the teacher. Do not go to any other classroom. Drop off your child and immediately exit the building. Notify the center immediately if testing positive for COVID within 48 hours of last being in the center. Thank you for following these guidelines from the Boulder County Health Dept.

Teachers Movement and Hiring Situation

We welcome back Ms. Lydia who is returning to Brown Bears. Ms. Lydia previously worked in Brown Bears with Ms. Diane and will be the new Lead Teacher for the Brown Bear classroom.

Ms. Romina will be transferring to the Polar Bear classroom as the Lead Teacher there.

Like many other businesses, we are still experiencing rather serious teacher shortages, stopping us from opening two classrooms.

For the next two months, the school is giving every teacher $1 extra for each hour worked if he or she does not call in during a pay period. When too many teachers call in due to sickness or other reasons, we will only take in as many children as we can legally.

If you know a good teacher and want to recommend to us, we have a $250 referral bonus in total. Please use this form to refer

Other Notices and Reminders

We would like to wish all of our father’s a very happy Father’s Day this month. We hope you will be able to find some quiet time to relax and rejuvenate.

Starting this month, each classroom will be starting “Splash Day”, please look at each classroom schedule for your child’s day. Children will need extra change of clothes, swimsuit, water shoes, towel, and sunscreen. Please refrain from your child wearing open toed shoes for safety reasons. Water shoes and Crocs are good choices.

As a reminder, we are having our staff meetings again on the 2nd Friday of each month. This is for staff training and development like we accomplished prior to COVID. We will be closing at 4:00 p.m. on those days. Dates are posted at the check-in area. June 11th will be our staff meeting.

We wish all of our Pre-Kindergarteners and Kindergarteners a big congratulations for completing your big graduation milestone!

Thank you parents for your precautions during this time keeping your child at home when sick or not feeling well. We know the extra stress this creates, but as you all know it is required to keep everybody safe and healthy. We truly appreciate you all.
