Director Newsletter: October 2020

October Director Newsletter

Dear Parents,

October has arrived starting to bring in the beautiful colors of fall.

This month we will be having parent/teacher conferences. We will be able to accommodate parents utilizing Zoom meeting or if you would like an in person meeting, we can schedule you to meet with your child’s teacher outside at the picnic table or we can do a phone call. You will be required to have a face mask for the in person meeting. Please look for the sign-up sheet for your child’s classroom at the front where you check in. Please identify on the form how you want to be contacted. Let us know if you need any assistance to accommodate a specific time or day that is not available via the sign-up form. Please see the schedule below for how we are accomplishing this:

October 5-6: Black Bears (Ms. Leanne)

October 14: Teddy’s (Ms. Katie)

October 16: Cub’s (Ms. Sammi)

October 20: Brown Bears (Ms. Diane)

October 21: Panda 2 (Ms. Cassandra)

October 22: Koala (Ms. Jasmine)

October 23: Panda 1 (Ms. Becca)

October 27: Polar Bears (Ms. Gloria)

October 29: Kindergarten (Ms. Guoli)

We will be having Halloween for the children, but this year it will be confined to each classroom. Your child will be able to wear their costume if you would like them to. If you would like to bring in treats for your child’s classroom please ensure it is a healthy snack that is store bought and does not contain nuts.

If you provide a morning snack for your child, please ensure it is a healthy snack. If you bring your child to school after 9:00 a.m., make sure they have had their breakfast and/or snack prior to coming to school as this is after morning snack time at the school.

Please ensure with our ever changing weather that your child has appropriate clothing in their cubby so they are prepared for whatever the days bring.

Thank you parents for your precautions during this time keeping your child at home when sick or not feeling well. We know the extra stress this creates, but as you all know it is required to keep everybody safe and healthy. We truly appreciate you all.

Reminder – Sunset Academy has extended the closure to 5:00 pm in order to accommodate parents. We sent an email previously about this but wanted to insure all are aware.

If you have any questions/concerns, do not hesitate to reach out to me.

Nina Emmer – Director, Sunset Academy.
