Cubs Newsletter: April 2024

Happy spring Cubs families!

I wanted to start this off by reminding parents to be checking your child’s cubbies and make sure they have 3 changes of weather appropriate clothing, as well as making sure to take home your child’s dirty clothes (if they have any) and empty bottles at the end of the day. As the weather gets warmer we will also be making our way outside so we ask that parents bring a light coat in case it’s a little chilly out to keep your little warm. For infants 6 months and up make sure you bring sunscreen for your little. Starting the end of this month we will be starting our mornings outside. If you drop off before 8:00am you will still drop off in the classroom, if you drop off after 8:00am you will drop your little off outside on our playground. We will try to be outside for at least 30 minutes but will ideally come in around 9:00am for bottles, morning snack and morning nap time. If you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to ask as we are more than happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have. We also have a couple new friends starting this month. We have baby Sylvia who started today and baby Avery who will start on the 15th. We will also be saying good bye to Theo as he transitions to the next infant classroom.

For curriculum this month our monthly theme is colors and shapes and April showers brings may flowers. With that being said we will be doing many different spring activities with your babies including arts/crafts, reading, singing songs, enjoying the nice weather, etc. Be sure to check out our daily lesson plan to get an insight on what your infant might be up to each day. We will also be posting lots of pictures to procare so you can see them in action learning and growing. We were unable to get to it last month so this month we will be completing ASQ’s with each little. For those who do not know what an ASQ (Ages&Stages Questionarre) is it is a Questionarre we will fill out that tracks your infants growth and allows us to tailor our lessons to meet the developmental needs of each baby. Whilst we do have general lesson plans we also are focused on doing plenty of activities to ensure your baby is hitting each milestones on time.
