September 2025- Brown Bears

Brown Bears September Newsletter
WELCOME TO SEPTEMBER BROWN BEARS

We are so exited for this school year!

As we move forward into September, we will be learning about ourselves (emotionally and physically). There are a few STEM experiments and various art projects we will be doing this month! We will also continue to familiarize the students with the daily routine and expectations. The lesson plans are on Procare and hung up in the hallway.

Theme: All About Me

Math: Basic Shapes

Literacy: Name recognition + Intro to Writing

Social-emotional: Communicating & Setting Boundaries

ALL  ABOUT ME: SEPT 5TH

Students will be sent home with a poster to fill out and decorate. The posters will be presented on Sept 5th during circle times. We will record and take pictures during the presentations.

FAMILY PICTURES: SEPT 12TH

We want you to be a part of our classroom. We are asking for each family to bring in 2 family pictures by Sept 12th. The students will “present” their pictures during circle time and the pictures will be used to decorate our classroom!

FINE MOTOR SKILLS

As we move into practicing writing skills and becoming more confident with taking care of our needs, we ask that you please practice fine motor and self help skills at home. We highly encourage for parents to allow students to do things on their own

Examples:  pouring liquids, cleaning up spills, opening packages, practice with zippers, peeling, tracing, etc.

Please remember that “struggling” is a part of learning. It helps students learn patience, confidence, and determination. Let students try things on their own and help them by doing hand over hand or with demonstrations if they need it. We’ve noticed all of the students are lacking in confidence; giving students feedback and acknowledging/encouraging their efforts is a great way to boost that.

Examples: You can do it! That’s a good try, I think you can do it if you try again. Would you like to see a trick for how to do that easier?
