November 2025- Polar Bears

Happy November Polar Bear Families!

We have a very exciting month planned full of lots of fun activities.  We have new students in our classroom. We would like to go over some of the things we do and items the children need.

Every morning between 8:30 and 9:00 we do our learning time, which is tracing our names and eventually writing names. We also trace the numbers 1-10 and the ABC’s.

During circle time we learn our shapes, days of the week and the letter of the month.

The month of November is the letter “E” please help your child find new words that start with the letter “E”

All children need at least 2 changes of clothing at all times. Please check in your child’s cubbie and take out summer clothes and bring back winter clothes. They also need a water bottle every day, a clean blanket, and a large backpack. 🎒

Independence & Confidence

Please dress your Polar Bear appropriately according to the weather.  As we still go outside in the winter time, it’s very important that every child is bringing: a thick sweater, jacket, hat, and gloves to school with them everyday. We’ll continue to teach our students how to put on and zip up their own coats and sweaters, and we ask that you encourage your child and reinforce this at home as well. The more they practice, the faster they will learn! We will also start to go over buttoning and lacing.

Self help skills are also very important! Please give students opportunities to be independent and develop confidence in their abilities. For example, closing/opening/filling their water bottles, opening wrappers, pouring their own drink, peeling their own fruit, changing clothes, cleaning spills, etc

NOTICE: TOYS IN CLASS

Recently, we have experienced many conflicts, distractions, and disorganization in regard to toys brought from home. We have plenty of toys for the students to use here and extras from home are not needed. Up to this point, we had been okay with other toys being brought, but there have been too many instances where they get lost, broken, or taken. We did speak with the students about it so they are aware of the changes and the reasoning behind it. PLEASE DO NOT LET YOUR CHILD BRING TOYS TO SCHOOL.

We encourage for families to bring any interesting books to class especially if they match with the theme. If you go on any hikes or adventures with your child take pictures to share with the class! Students love having the opportunity to teach and be in the spotlight.

Sick – Germs

The health and safety of all our students is always our top priority. As the temperature drops, we will be seeing more friends sick. We kindly ask that you keep your child home if they aren’t feeling or behaving like their usual self and show symptoms of fatigue, cough, sore throat, runny nose or fever. We realize this can be difficult to arrange but it is vital when it comes to keeping children and staff healthy.  If they test positive for anything let us know! It is important we know so we can keep a record of it and can take proper measures to minimize spreading it further! Thank you for your cooperation.

Thank you for all your support always.
