Director’s Newsletter

Dear Sunset Families,

Happy November! This month is full of gratitude, growth, and exciting updates here at Sunset Academy.

đŸ—“ïž Parent–Teacher Conferences
Parent–teacher conferences will take place throughout the month of November. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with your child’s teacher and discuss milestones, goals, and classroom progress. Sign-up sheets are posted on each classroom door—please be sure to select a time that works best for your family. (Signing up for conferences is optional).

🍁 Important Dates & Closures

  • Early Closure: Friday, November 14th – We will close at 4:00 PM for staff training.

  • Thanksgiving Lunch: Wednesday, November 26th – We’ll be serving a special Thanksgiving lunch for the children, and families are warmly invited to join us at 11:30 AM if you’d like to share in the celebration.

  • Holiday Closure: Thursday, November 27th & Friday, November 28th – Sunset Academy will be closed for Thanksgiving. We wish all our families a warm and restful holiday!

🚧 Polar Bears Classroom Renovation Update
We’re thrilled to share that our Polar Bears classroom renovation is now complete! The most exciting update is the addition of a new in-classroom bathroom—a huge improvement that allows our little ones easier, quicker access without having to wait for the hallway restroom.

✅ Daily ProCare Reminder
Please remember to sign your child in and out through ProCare every single day. Accurate attendance is essential for both licensing compliance and the safety of our children.

đŸ©ș Health & Wellness Reminder
The season of illnesses is here, and we want to thank everyone for helping keep our classrooms healthy. At minimum, we are required to follow Health Department regulations regarding illness and exclusion.
If your child is sent home due to illness such as fever, vomiting, or diarrhea, they must remain home for at least 24 hours from the last known symptom—without the use of any fever-reducing or anti-nausea medications.
Please note that a doctor’s note permitting your child to return while still symptomatic does not override our center’s health policies. These guidelines are in place to keep all children and staff safe and healthy.

🎃 A Huge Thank You!
A big heartfelt thank you to all the families who volunteered and participated in our Trunk or Treat event! Your creativity, decorations, and treats made the day so special for our children. It was such a fun afternoon filled with laughter, smiles, and community spirit—we truly couldn’t have done it without you!

We’re so grateful for your continued partnership and trust. November reminds us how thankful we are for our wonderful families and dedicated staff who make Sunset Academy such a special place.

With gratitude,

Samantha
