Happy New Year, Sunset Academy families!
We are so happy to welcome everyone back as we begin a fresh new year together. January is a time for re-establishing routines and helping children transition smoothly back into their school day after the holiday season. Our teachers are focused on providing consistency, comfort, and structure to support children as they settle back into familiar schedules.
This month, classrooms will be emphasizing social-emotional development, independence, kindness, and confidence-building routines. These foundational skills help set children up for success throughout the new year.
❄️ Winter Wellness
As we move through winter and cold/flu season, we appreciate your partnership in keeping our community healthy. Please remember to:
-
Keep children home when they are ill
-
Reinforce good handwashing habits
-
Send children dressed appropriately for the weather, with all items clearly labeled
📋 Attendance & Staffing
Accurate attendance is very important. Please ensure your child is signed in and out daily through Procare. Families participating in CCCAP must also complete the required CCCAP sign-in and sign-out each day.
If you experience any issues, please let us know so we can assist.
Tuition covers up to a 9-hour day only. If your family requires care beyond 9 hours per day, please speak with Nina, as rates differ for extended hours.
Our center hours are 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM. Please be mindful of pick-up times, as late fees will apply for children picked up after closing.
Thank you for your cooperation and support in helping us operate smoothly and remain in compliance.
🍎 Healthy Meals & Nutrition
At Sunset Academy, we are proud to provide healthy, balanced meals and snacks for children each day. Please note that our school is a nut-free facility to help keep all children safe.
Menus are sent out weekly so families can review upcoming meals in advance.
-
If your child is unable to have a certain individual menu item, you are welcome to bring a supplement for that item or ask if we have an alternative available.
-
If an entire meal cannot be served to your child, we kindly ask that you provide a meal from home for your child on that day.
***We appreciate your communication and cooperation as we work together to meet individual dietary needs.
📌 Policies & Procedures
A reminder that all center policies and procedures can be found on our website at www.sunsetacademy.com. We encourage families to review these policies periodically, as they help us maintain a safe, consistent, and high-quality environment for all children.
🧸 Toys From Home
To help maintain a safe, focused, and fair classroom environment, we ask that all toys be kept at home. Bringing toys from home can lead to distractions, sharing conflicts, and lost or broken items.
Teachers may occasionally request or allow a special item for classroom use or special activities, but unless specifically requested by your child’s teacher, please do not send toys from home.
Thank you for supporting our teachers and helping us create a positive learning environment for all children.
👨👩👧 Enrollment Referrals & Incentives
We love welcoming new families to Sunset Academy! If you refer a family who enrolls, you may be eligible for an enrollment referral incentive as a thank-you for sharing your experience with others.
Please stop by the office or reach out to learn more about our current referral incentive details.
❤️ A Note of Gratitude
We are incredibly grateful for our Sunset Academy families and staff. Thank you for your continued trust, communication, and flexibility—especially during the winter months. We look forward to another year of growth, learning, and partnership.
Warmly, Sammi Director, Sunset Academy
