December 2025- Director’s Newsletter

Dear Sunset Academy Families,

As we reach the end of another wonderful year together, I want to take a moment to thank each of you for being a part of our Sunset Academy community. 2025 has been a year filled with growth, learning, joyful milestones, and meaningful connections. Our students have blossomed in confidence, imagination, and independence, and our classrooms have been full of laughter, curiosity, and discovery. We are so grateful for the trust you place in us each and every day.

This year brought many memorable highlights—from creative curriculum expansions to family involved events, holiday events, classroom celebrations, and the warm partnerships we’ve built along the way. We’ve navigated challenges, learned new things about our students and ourselves, and continued to strengthen the foundation of our program. Thank you for walking through another year with us.

As we enter the final month of 2025, our curriculum will be full of winter magic and cultural exploration. December themes will include learning about holidays from around the world, snow and winter changes, hands-on sensory activities, preschool book exchanges, classroom Christmas celebrations, and our annual Pre-K gift exchange traditions. It’s a month full of excitement, joy, and meaningful learning.

Exciting News:

Introducing Our New Infant Classroom –

The Honey Bears!

We are thrilled to announce the renovation and upcoming opening of our brand new infant classroom, The Honey Bears! Over the past couple of months, we have been hard at work transforming our former Pre-K Black Bears room into a warm, nurturing, and thoughtfully designed space for our growing infant community. From fresh paint and new carpeting to updated plumbing and beautiful new infant furniture, every detail has been intentionally planned with safety, development, and comfort in mind.

The Honey Bears classroom will welcome our more mobile infants, while the Cubs classroom will continue caring for our littlest babies. This allows us to better support each stage of infancy and provide curriculum that matches their developmental needs. Our infant curriculum focuses heavily on sensory exploration, social bonding, early language development, fine and gross motor support, music and movement, and intentional one-on-one interactions. Each day will be filled with gentle routines, cozy environments, and opportunities for infants to explore and grow at their own pace.

We are excited to share that Miss Savannah, our Infant Nursery Supervisor, will be overseeing the opening of the Honey Bears classroom. She will support the setup, transitions, and overall quality of care to ensure a smooth and welcoming experience for all families. Miss Tabatha will continue her wonderful work as Lead Teacher in the Cubs classroom, providing consistency and expert care for our youngest infants.

We are currently accepting new enrollments for the Honey Bears classroom. If any of our Sunset Academy families refer a family who enrolls, there will be a special referral incentive as a thank-you for helping our community grow.

We cannot wait to welcome our Honey Bears in January 2026 and open the doors to this beautiful new space! If you have any questions or would like a tour, please stop by the front office.

As we close out 2025, our hearts are full. This year has been such a gift—full of growth, laughter, learning, and unforgettable moments with your children. We are so thankful for your continued support and partnership. We look forward to welcoming a bright new year together, filled with opportunity and joy.

Warmest wishes for a peaceful holiday season and a wonderful New Year,

Sammi – Director, Sunset Academy
