Black Bear Newsletter: January 2023

Hello All!

This winter the Black Bear’s have done wonderfully on brushing up their counting skills, shape recognition, letter recognition and so much more! We are also making excellent progress in our social-emotional skills!

This year we will be roping it in by working on our writing skills and brushing up on that a bit. We will also be introducing beginner site words and learning each sound a letter can make! We will be doing so through learning all about Winter, now that it is finally here! This month we will cover everything from snow and ice, to hibernation, to winter wonderland activities, and more!

Reminder: With there being snow, we do ask that you send your child with snow pants and winter gear as we will be exploring outside when able to do so. A change of shoes is also preferable to change into for comfort wet, sandy winter boots! We also tend to get colder easily, warmer gloves/mittens are welcome since we love to make snowballs and make it snow when we play outdoors. Extra sweaters and sweatshirts are welcome as well. Also, we’ve had some mix-ups with water bottles and blankets. Please label your child’s first and last name on their items to prevent further confusion and easy identification.

I cannot wait to see where this year takes us!

With Love,

-Ms. Kylyn
