Panda 1 February 2018 Newsletter

Dear Panda One Families,

We hope everyone is off to a happy and healthy new year!

With winter upon us, and temperatures outdoors steadily decreasing, we ask that you please ensure that your child is prepared with season-appropriate clothing.  This includes a hat, gloves, a heavy coat, pants, socks, and closed-toe shoes; we also request that you provide a pair of snow boots, if possible.

Classroom Updates

We welcomed a new teacher, Miss Kristen, to the Panda Classroom last month.  She will be assisting Miss Nikki on Panda Two from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday through Friday.  Please feel free to introduce yourself.

Due to a recent change in policy, we are no longer at liberty to wash the children’s water cups each night.  We ask that you please take them home to be washed each evening, and bring them back each morning.  Furthermore, we do not offer in-house laundering of the children’s blankets; we ask that you please take them home every Friday to be laundered over the weekend, and bring them back each Monday.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Upcoming Events

Our Valentine’s Day party is scheduled for Wednesday, February 14th.  A sign-up sheet for snacks and party supplies will be posted on the whiteboard in the hallway just outside of the Panda room door.  The children will be decorating valentine boxes early in the week, and they will exchange valentines at the party.  To simplify the exchange, we ask that you please only fill out the “From:” field on each valentine, and leave the “To:” field on each valentine blank (i.e. please do not address each Valentine to a specific child).  That way, the children can exchange valentines with each other independently.

Transitions

Last month, we bid a fond farewell to our friends Ellis, August, Kezia and Lorna, as they moved over the wall to Panda Two.  In their place we welcomed Adley, Brienne, Landon, and Clement from Koala Two.  Congratulations on your graduation, friends!  We are very proud of you!  There may be another transition on the horizon this month, so please stay tuned – we will keep you informed of any updates as we become aware.
