Dear Panda One Families,
We hope everyone had fun and safe Halloween! Our Annual Fall Festival went off without a hitch, and we’d like to thank you for your donations, and for taking the time to join us for the festivities. The children really enjoyed wearing their costumes to school on Halloween Day; they spent much of their morning admiring each other, and taking turns looking at themselves in the mirror.
Recap
The month of October was filled with sensory stimulation and hands-on exploration. With the change in seasons, the temperatures outdoors ranged from below freezing to over 80 degrees, and the children played in the sun, the snow, the wind, and the rain. They indulged their senses, and practiced counting and quantifying with a create-your-own pizza activity, and got to see a real fire truck during a very special visit form the Longmont Fire Department!
Classroom Updates
We’ll begin the month of November with a change in staffing on both sides of the Panda Room, as both Miss Becca (Panda One) and Miss Sammi (Panda Two) will be leaving us at the beginning of the month. Miss Becca’s last day will be Thursday, November 2nd, and Miss Sammi’s last day will be Friday, November 3rd. While we are unsure as we write this newsletter as to whom will be replacing either teacher, we will keep you informed as we become aware, and of course, we will do everything in our power to ensure a smooth and comfortable transition for the children.

Sunset Academy will be closed on Thursday, November 23rd in observance of Thanksgiving Day. We will reopen on Friday, November 24th (Black Friday) for your convenience. A sign-in/out sheet for the week of Thanksgiving will be posted on the white board in the hallway just outside of the Panda Room door. Please mark your child “IN” or “OUT” for each day of that week. The deadline to reserve a spot for the holiday week is Friday, November 10th at 6:00PM. Children who have not been signed in or out by the deadline will be presumed to be out, and the classroom will be staffed accordingly. Thank you in advance.
