Panda 1 October 2017 Newsletter

Happy Harvest!  It’s officially Fall, and we have the weather to prove it.  After being classroom-bound for nearly a week in September, the rains have finally let up enough to allow us some much appreciated time outdoors. The month of September was full of outdoor learning and adventure: from frogs and bunnies to spiders, praying mantises, and butterflies.  Our class took several tours through the garden, and harvested eggplants, cucumbers, tomatoes, and peas.  The giant sunflowers at the west end of the field were a sight to be seen and, as you can imagine, our End of Summer Popsicle and Bubble Party was a HUGE hit!  We are looking forward to what the month of October has in store for us.

Wellness

It’s that time of the year again – cold and flu season.  Please be advised that if your child exhibits signs of severe illness (i.e. fever, vomiting, diarrhea) while at school they will be sent home.  A list of symptoms and illnesses that could potentially qualify your child for exclusion from school will be posted on the parent board for reference.

Changes of Clothing

With the cold-weather season upon us, we are asking that all families please remove any summer apparel – including Splash Day gear (swimsuits, water shoes, towels, sunhats, etc.) – from their child’s cubby.  Your child will need the following on a daily basis:

  • Close-toed shoes
  • Coat or jacket
  • Full change of clothing, including socks

Dylan K. and Kamuy will begin their transition to Panda Two at the beginning of the month. In their place, we will welcome Harrison and Luca from Koala Two.
