Brown Bears October 2017 Newsletter

Welcome Fall, it sure has been a quick change in weather! Please double-check your child’s change of clothes to accommodate the chillier weather. We will continue to go outside twice a day, at 9:45 and 3:45 all year round. Fresh air, exercise, and the ability to socialize during free play are just as important as academics to the growth of the whole child.

Speaking of academics your children have begun to really focus on the letter of the week. We are so proud of how quickly they are learning how to cut with scissors to make and “read” their letter of the week book. Beginning word sound is an important first step toward early reading.

October will bring some exciting community helper visitors! I have arranged for the firefighters to visit on October 13. Humane Society will give a TAILS presentation on October 24. The dentist visit won’t be until November 3rd. I will post the date for the police officer visit as soon as they get back with me, hopefully in October.

We will be very focused on teaching about health and safety including fire safety in preparation for these visits.

Of course, the end of the month we will slip in bats and spiders and how amazing they are, (but they are also added fun for Halloween.)

We are looking forward to a busy exciting month! Please don’t hesitate with any questions or concerns. You can always send an email to sunsetacademybrownbears@gmail.com

Remember Love em, hug em, laugh lots and READ, READ, READ!!!
