Panda 1 September 2017 Newsletter

The dog days of summer are officially over.  School is back in session, Labor Day is this week, and some of the leaves on the trees in the high country have already begun to change color.  Where does the time go?  At any rate, we hope everyone had a wonderful summer!  Welcome Fall!

With the change in seasons fast approaching, we ask that you please survey the contents of your child’s cubby and remove any Splash Day apparel (i.e. swimsuits, water shoes, towels, etc.).  We also ask that you please ensure that there is at least one full change of clothing available every day for your child to change into in case of an accident.  We do our best to keep the children clean and dry, but accidents do happen.  Thank you for your support with this.

August was a month for bugs.  From Bumble Bees, Lady Bugs, Roly Poly’s and Butterflies to Centipedes, Beetles, Earwigs, and Spiders – we saw them all.  We were able to catch a few and place them in our bug jar for a short while so the children could have an opportunity to view them safely and more closely.  Some of the children were even able to catch Lady Bugs out on the playground.  They took turns watching them crawl across each other’s hands, which was very exciting!  We are looking forward to what this new month brings our way.

There was a lot of movement in the Panda One Room last month.  We bid a fond farewell to Kyla, Everest, Abbigail, Cora, Aria, and Everett.  In their place we welcomed Lorna, Kezia, Alice, Dylan, and Olivia.  This month, a new enrollee, Marley, will be joining us in the Panda One Room.  Please join us as we welcome Marley and his family to Sunset Academy.

Ms. Becka will be on vacation until Wednesday, September 6th.  While she is away, Ms. Sammi will be covering her shift in the Grizzly Room from 6:30AM-7:15AM.  Panda children arriving to the center before 7:15AM may be dropped off in the Grizzly Room. Ms. Becca will be working the 7:30AM-5:30PM shift in Panda One.
