Dear Panda One Families,
Happy New Year! We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season. With the holidays behind us and a new year ahead, we are looking forward to the coming weeks of 2015.
Winter is upon us, and although the dog days of summer are now just a distant thing of the past, we will be taking advantage of every opportunity to go outdoors and enjoy the fresh air. With that in mind, we ask that you please provide season appropriate apparel for your child. We recommend: hats, gloves, long-sleeved shirts, pants, closed-toe shoes, heavy winter coats, snow pants, and snow boots. Also, in an effort to ensure that all personal effects are returned to their rightful owner, we ask that you please take a moment to label all of your child’s personal belongings with their first and last name.
Maya and Greidan will be moving up to the Panda Two classroom, and Amelia and Nora will be joining us from the Koala Two classroom. Please join us in congratulating all of our friends on their upcoming graduation, as well as in welcoming Amelia and Nora (and their families) to Panda One.
Last, but certainly not least, we would like to remind everyone that there is a child with a severe nut allergy in the Panda classroom. We kindly ask that you refrain from bringing any food item that may contain nuts into the room. Furthermore, any item that can fit through a toilet paper/paper towel roll is considered to be a choking hazard; please leave these items in the car or at home. Thank you for helping us to ensure the comfort and safety of all of the children in our care.
As always, we would like to thank you for your feedback and continued support; should you ever have any questions, comments, or concerns, please do not hesitate to speak with one of us.
Until next month, take care!

Happy Holidays to all! We hope you all had a great New Years.
It’s hard to believe that it is 2015 already.
We have begun working on a letter of the week . Please look for art and activities associated with this letter.
Please keep in mind that we do go outside twice a day even on cool days. It has been very cold. Make sure your child has a coat, hat and other weather appropriate clothing.
We do ask that you label all personal items and take home blankets and cups to be washed weekly.
Keep a look out as in February we will be having a party for Valentines day. We will place a sign up sheet on the door for parents to participate.
Thanks for all that you do.

Our class is ready to settle in and get busy. We will spend January discussing Snow and Ice, Hibernating, the Ground Hogs and Shadows. We will concentrate on letter recognition and sounds, and continue practicing writing our names as well.
Thank you for all you do. Please don’t hesitate if you ever have questions or concerns.

Happy New Year! We hope that everyone had a wonderful and safe holiday season!
In January, we will begin our sight word program. Each week we will have two sight words. In January, we will also start sending home homework each week. This will be a short packet that will be sent home on Fridays and can be returned in the homework basket by the next Friday. The homework is for a little extra practice on important skills for kindergarten and to get used to the idea of having homework.
The new year means that the time to sign your child up for kindergarten is almost here! If you have any questions about before and after school care, please ask Ms. Kim or Ms. Kristy.

Happy new years parents and family, welcome to 2015! A new year brings new adventures in learning experience for our kids. We will start off the year with one field experiments thing around “heating it up”!
January had a couple no school and late start days during the month of January. As these dates get closer we will post the dates outside the grizzly room on the theme. Please make sure you have snacks and lunches packed for your kiddos on those days.
The cold weather has settled in around us. Please encourage your kids to bring coats, mittens , boots and hat to protect them from the colder weather during the day. We do try to get a little fresh air and outside playtime after school and during days off . We wish your family only the best this year thank you for being part of our Sunset Academy family
Please Note: We have a peanut and berry allergy in our room, so please pack food items without peanuts for lunches and snacks.
