We believe that children have the right to a nurturing, safe environment here they can feel comfortable and secure. The goal of the center is to support each child's development to his/her potential in all areas of growth and learning. Your child will be offered developmentally appropriate activities (art, blocks and dramatic play) as well as the academic activities (language, math and science). We at Sunset Academy will strive to allow the children to develop to their maximum abilities. The teachers have the responsibility to provide opportunities for this development to occur. Sunset Academy recognizes that each child is an individual and to reach our goal we must work cooperatively with parents sharing in our mutual interest in the child. We encourage parents to become involved with the center. We invite suggestions and comments to better our programs. We ask parents to visit classrooms and participate with field trips. We feel this interaction aids our goal for the children to feel important about themselves and give them a sense of pride and accomplishment. We believe each child has the right to develop a positive self-image and to feel good about who they are. We know that treating each child with love and respect that they in turn will learn to treat others with the same love and respect. |
